When it comes to free school meals if your eligible don’t hesitate to sign up it is worth it! Free school meals support thousands of families around the UK and if your eligible you should take up the offer. Please see the link above for more information about how to apply.

BOOKING

Chartwells provide the school lunches in many Newport Schools. All meals are to be booked through Parent Pay, www.parentpay.com including those eligible for Free School Meals (those in receipt of specific benefits). All primary school children in Wales can have a free school meal provided by the Welsh Government in their response to the rising cost-of-living pressures on families and tackling child poverty and ensuring no child goes hungry in school.

This is not linked to the FSM support available for those that qualify through certain benefits. If you do not have parent pay account, you can’t order a school meal, please contact the office for an activation letter. You must make a booking before 8am on the day as Chartwells cook hot meals to order.  You can book meals 3 weeks in advance. If you forget to book a meal via parent pay your child will be offered a school packed lunch which consists of either ham or cheese sandwich, fruit, dessert, and a drink.

ALLERGIES

Chartwells provide an allergy friendly menu.  If your child has an allergy its vital the school and Chartwells are made aware.  In order for you to be able to book a meal you will be required to complete the Chartwells medical form and provide medical evidence of the allergy. If your child has allergies then please complete the relevant form (found below) and return it to school and we will forward it to Chartwells for you.
